Europe’s largest Ikea store
In the heart of Berlin-Lichtenberg stands Europe’s largest Ikea store. The location is also the second largest in the world.
With more than 30,000 meters of parking space markings, 2,500 pictograms, and more than 10,000 linear meters of marking for prohibited areas, this was no everyday job for us. Our tasks also included producing the ground markings for all access roads.
The unique aspect here was that all the ground marking needed to be finished in time for the grand opening in December. Outside temperatures as low as -12°C (10.4°F) and snowfall and the need to coordinate with other tradesmen made this a special challenge. In order to overcome this, we had to treat all surfaces beforehand with roadway dryers specially developed for this purpose. The road surface had to be cleared of dirt and snow and then heated to +25°C (77°F). As a result, we were able to complete the job on time under the worst weather conditions with our accustomed quality and full guarantee.
