Europe's largest Ikea store

Europe’s largest Ikea store is located in the centre of Berlin-Lichtenberg. At the same time, this location is the second largest in the world.

With over 30,000 metres of car park markings, 2,500 pictograms and over 10,000 running metres of restricted area markings, this was not an everyday job for us either. Our task also included the production of the road markings on all access roads.

The special challenge here was to complete the floor markings in time for the opening date in December. With outside temperatures of up to -12°C and snowfall and the coordination of other trades, this was a particular challenge. To overcome this, we had to pre-treat all surfaces in advance with specially developed roadway dryers. This firstly removed moisture and snow from the surface and secondly heated it up to +25°C. As a result, we were able to complete the job on time and in the usual quality with a full warranty, even in the worst weather conditions.
