After the renewal with a special anti-skid asphalt, the runway was extended to a length of 1,260.00 m and a width of 20.00 m. The previously valid ground markings had to be removed by us, re-measured and re-applied on the basis of the reconstruction measurements.
The special challenge was to carry out the marking work in specially allocated time windows agreed in advance with the operator, without restricting flight operations.
The marking system applied here is approved by the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) and certified accordingly. It is a field-proven, thin-layer marking material that can be used to meet the particularly stringent requirements for runways, as well as for taxiway areas and aprons.
